This cable is typically plugged into a modem or router (like Cradlepoint, Sierra Wireless or PepLink) then run up through the headliner and then plugged into the back of the MDT (mobile data terminal) which is the rugged laptop computer the police officer uses in the patrol vehicle.  This type of cable is probably used in 50-75% of all computer installations in police vehicles.
