Smallest RFID UHF Antenna at Arcadian Inc.

Posted by Michael Crudele on

Q) Can you tell me what the smallest Near-Field RFID UHF antenna Arcadian carries is?   A) Recently we received a question regarding the smallest Near-Field RFID UHF antenna we have in stock at Arcadian. The client was inquiring about an antenna that had a range of about 1.5 feet for a small pet door product that she was installing. Luckily we have many options, our Times-7 # A1001, A8060-71416, A1115-72028, and A1130-72023, all recommendations that would allow the client to have the frequency range she desires.       Our Times-7 # A1001 is a mini Near-Field antenna that operates at...

Reverse Polarity (RP) SMA vs. Standard SMA. What is the difference?

Posted by Michael Crudele on

I get many inquiries each month from customers looking for 50 ohm Coaxial cable assemblies for WiFi, cellular LTE, and 900 MHz modems, gateways, routers and radios with SMA connectors.  The problem is that there is often confusion concerning the terminology used to describe SMA vs. RP-SMA (reverse polarity SMA) RF coaxial connectors. A good sign that business is continuing to recover, and that the RFID space continues to grow. While many attendees were RFID industry insiders and familiar faces, a...

Hand-held RFID antenna signal strength mapping tool - a must for RFID professionals

Posted by Michael Crudele on

I wanted to take a moment to inform our RFID clients about a GREAT tool that many RFID professionals feel is an essential part of their "toolkit" in the field:   The RFID Power Mapper from RFMAX is a small (2 1/4 x 2 3/4 inches) hand-held unit that measures relative antenna strength for both linear and circular RFID antennas in the FCC: 902-928 MHz & ETSI: 865-868 MHz ranges.   The unit does NOT require batteries, so it's always ready when you need it.  It simply uses radiated RF power like an RFID tag, and displays signal strength on a simple to read analog gauge.  I find it most helpful when...
